What an incredible race; tremendous turnout! I want to thank our athletes for participating on what was undoubtedly the hottest race day in nine years. Parents, thank you for not only getting your athletes to the race on time, but also for excellent behavior during the race. It is not easy to let go and watch your young child navigate this course alone. Thank you for trusting us to promote a safe race. Those new to the sport soon realize what a hectic place the race venue can become.
A special thanks to our volunteers, we were fortunate this year to have over 70 volunteers on Saturday! What a difference they make in the quality of the event. The venue options for a kid’s triathlon in the Jackson metropolitan area are limited; although the current course is not optimal, we have made it work with the help of the Flowood and Pearl Police Departments.
